We found some sconces 75% off and thought we could use them in the library however they are made to have fabric draped through them so what to do with the holes through the middle of them???
That's right, make lion heads to cover the holes.

when I got done laughing at the serious music on the slideshow,I was able to be quite impressed with the gorgeous Lion head!! Those are really cool..and definitely look a bit chocolately but on the sconce, quite lovely! How did you attach them?

Laura, Richard has an answer for your insulation question.
Laura, I need to know the construction of your home, what is the exterior, are the walls framed out of wood, and what are you going to do with the plaster? Let me know and I'll give you my thoughts, or at least make up something.
it's a wood-frame with brick facing, and frankly, I'd rather leave the plaster up and just do some framing on top of it with insulation in between, i just don't know how smart that would be to do, especially since we seem to have some mold growing at the bottom of our walls in the room that needs insulated- it was once the attached garage, and they sorta converted it, just not fully, they never insulated the ceiling, and did the bare min to get the central air connected. I think they must have been very motivated people who thought they were good at home repair, but didn't really know much or bother to find out much about it... we have tucking to do on the brick facade as well, you can see where they tried to repair some spots but didn't color the mortar the same color, so we have this nice red brick with gray mortar and spots on the house with bright white mortar kinda pasted on...ugh. I'll get it fixed in the summer....
