Then My Beautiful Bride and I spent an anniversary getaway at the Hoyt House in Fernandina Beach, Florida http://www.hoythouse.com/index.htm, followed by a stay at the Marshall House in Savannah, Georgia http://www.marshallhouse.com/.
This prompted us to start looking for old houses nationwide. We searched http://www.historicproperties.com/ and http://www.oldhouses.com/
On one of our trips to Missouri and Iowa, we stayed at the French Quarters Bed & Breakfast in Lexington, Missouri. We had the whole house to ourselves, and it was a great time. Except for the fire alarm battery that died, so I had to replace it to end the chirping that was going on.
Anyway, this is the origin. It's my story and I'm sticking with it.
