Love them!! Are you restoring and keeping them all? I hope so. Where in the house are they located? In the "parlor" (I have always wanted a parlor!). In the bedrooms? Curious I am!!
They are located in the entry way, library, drawing room, dinning room (all on the first floor)and the middle chamber (bedroom) on the second floor. Yes, we will restore them and keep them.
We went to visit the cool old Granite Tabernacle in SLC and there was a fireplace in all the main rooms so unless I had seen that first, I don't know if I would have quite understood. I guess if you realize tho that a fireplace was quite a luxury to have when there was no central heating, it makes a lot more sense. Does it all lead to ONE chimney??
No, there are two chimneys. One looks like the leaning Tower of Pizza. By the way, (and I don't mean John Bytheway) these are coal burning fireplaces so they are smaller the regular ones we have today.

I meant to say "smaller than" instead of "smaller the" in the previous post.
I also meant to say "Tower of Pisa".
